Hurry Up – Be a Difference!
“So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger (Luke 2:16).”
The world pleads with us to hurry up during Christmas. The church guides us to slow down. Both are incomplete and confusing messages unless we give accurate biblical reasons why.
Unique to the Christmas story is a hurried theme like no other. The shepherds hurried to see baby Jesus and then they spread the Word (Luke 2:17).
My prayer this Christmas has been modified. I am not praying to slow down so I can make a difference. In the center of the story is the difference-maker, Jesus! This year, I am praying I will hurry up and “BE A DIFFERENCE.”
My plan to be a difference will be different than yours. Think through how you can be a difference in every sphere and in every relationship in your life and then hurry up and do it!
Both the world and the church are in dire need of “believers” who are “be-livers,” not just “be-leavers.” What other reason would there be for the shepherds to immediately spread the Word?
