The Prayer of Jesus: Reveal the Message of Love
“I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me (John 17:6-8).”
Would God’s Word be more valuable to us who test it and casually dismiss it if we sat down with him at Starbucks for a time of prayer and Bible Study. The most valuable words in history are those written in the Holy Bible. The disciples accepted Jesus’ words and it changed them because he kept the main thing the main thing and revealed God in them.
Sometimes I don’t want to ask myself the question at the end of the day, “what did I reveal about God in the words I used or chose not to use; or, the actions I took or chose not to take?” Often times I forget it’s the words and actions I choose not to say or do that could have made all the difference in the world if someone felt God’s real love through me or if they felt the devil’s message of hate.
If I believe with certainty that God sent Jesus and the message he passed on to his disciples is the truth, I must be the best witness to that belief as possible, not being swayed to and fro by what others say or lead me to believe.
I am certain the Holy Spirit lives inside each of us who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior and we can choose the right way to pass on God’s message of love with him as our Advocate, the One who reminds us and guides us (John 14:15-31).
We either “PASS ON THE MESSAGE” or we “PASS” on the message.
